The Master Cleanse Diet From A to Z

What is the Master Cleanse Diet?Master Cleanse Secrets

The Master Cleanser diet is a special fast that was developed to help individuals rid their bodies of dangerous toxins. It was developed in the 1950s by Stanley Burroughs and has been used by thousands since. It is regarded as one of the premier methods of cleansing and weight loss and has recently increased in popularity. Superstar Beyonce Knowles is one of the latest pop figures to have used the Master Cleanser diet.

The human body is thought to be perfectly healthy until toxins or germs enter it and begin deteriorating the cells, glands, and tissue. To combat disease, doctors have throughout history developed many types of medicines and drugs, and new medicines continue to be produced every day. Yet, in spite of the ongoing research and manufacturing of new medicines, mankind still goes on suffering from disease and disorders. Even worse, the medicines themselves are known to produce dangerous side-effects on the body. Many of these same medicines are so new, that it’s difficult to foresee the effects they have on the organism in the long run.

Combine the above with the eating habits of this generation’s average man or woman. Our current society has forced us to always be on the move. Whether it is that you have 30 minutes lunch break, a plethora of daily activities, or you barely have enough time to go from college to work, we are basically compelled to choose fast food or other unhealthy foods because of the lack of time. These are the same foods that fill our bodies with an excess of bad nutrients which in turn cause disease.

Enter the master cleanser. The master cleanser, also known as the lemonade diet, serves to eliminate these same toxins that we have acquired throughout the years of bad eating habits and bad choice of foods. It does so by first stopping the growth of the waste accumulated in different parts of our body thus breaking it down and allowing it to pass through the body. Our bodies never produce anything it does not need and never keeps anything it does not use. So when you finally cease to introduce toxins into the body through the diet, you allow nature to take its course by eliminating any weak or deficient cells, accumulated waste, and any other toxins found in the body.

The master cleanser is also known to be a fat-reducing diet. As you stop eating foods, you force the body to use its reserves, in particular the fat stored throughout the body. Because of this, many dieters have chosen the master cleanser as a way not to only eliminate fat but also cleanse the digestive system and eliminate the toxins found in the body. Additionally, the master cleanse also helps build a healthy blood stream, relieve pressure or irritation in the nerves, arteries, and blood vessels, and keep youth and elasticity regardless of age.

So how does the master cleanser work?

The Master Cleanse diet calls for a minimum of 10 days or more – up to 40 days, and only beyond 40 days in the more serious cases. The diet has all the nutrition needed for this period of time. It is recommended to do the diet three to four times a year for maximum cleansing.

The master cleanse is prepared using the following ingredients:

2 Tablespoons of lemon or lime juice (approximately ½ lemon)
2 Tablespoons of genuine maple syrup (NOT maple flavored sugar syrup)
1/10 teaspoon cayenne pepper (red pepper)
8 oz. of water at room temperature

Combine the lemon juice, syrup, pepper, and water in a 10oz glass with lid, shake it up, and drink.

Use fresh (organic) lemons or limes ONLY. It is recommended to use grade b maple syrup but you could substitute it for the more commonly found grade a. Grade B, however, contains more minerals than grade a.

Each of the aforementioned ingredients serves a special purpose. Combined, they give the body enough nutrients and energy it needs. It is important to remember to drink the daily recommended glasses of six to twelve. As you get hungry throughout the day, drink another glass of lemonade. For those overweight, less maple syrup may be taken. For those underweight, more maple syrup may be added. About six glasses is enough for those wishing to reduce in weight. Extra water may be taken as desired.

No other food should be taken during this time. Do not use vitamin pills.

To help the cleansing along, you should drink a laxative tea at night to loosen and a sea salt and water mix in the morning to wash out. Remember, if your stomach feels upset it is because you are not having sufficient elimination.

It is recommended to drink the laxative tea from the start of the fast. You can buy a natural laxative tea at your local health store. We also have it available at our store.

To prepare the sea salt water mix, it is recommended you use a full quart of warm water combined with two full teaspoons of sea salt. It often helps to follow the salt water with more warm water. Do not use regular iodized salt as it will not work properly. Do not take enemas or colonics at any time during cleansing diet or afterwards as it can be extremely harmful. If the salt water does not work the first time, try adding more or less seal salt, until the proper balance is found.

Breaking the fast

It is imperative to your health that you break the fast as described in the following paragraphs. If you do not follow these directions, you can seriously damage your system.

First and second day after the diet:

You should drink several 8oz. glasses of orange juice throughout the day. Drink it slowly. If digestive difficulty occurs, you may add water to your orange juice.

Third day after the diet:

Drink your orange juice in the morning, raw fruit for lunch, and a vegetable or fruit salad at night. You are now ready to eat normally.

For those who consumed a large amount of meat, milk or processed foods, it may be best to change over as follows, gradually introducing fruits into your system.

First day:

Drink (slowly) several 8oz glasses of fresh orange juice throughout the day.

Second day:

Drink several 8oz glasses of fresh orange juice throughout the day. Prepare a vegetable soup (no canned soup) for the evening as follows (as described in detail in the Master Cleanse book):

Use several kinds of vegetables, perhaps one or two kinds of legumes, potatoes, celery, carrots, green vegetable tops, onion, etc. Dehydrated vegetables or vegetable soup powders may be added for extra flavor. Okra or okra powder, chili, curry, cayenne (red pepper), tomatoes, green peppers, and zucchini squash may be included to good advantage. Brown rice may be used, but no meat or meat stock. Other spices may be added (delicately) for flavor. Use salt delicately as a limited amount of salt is necessary.

Learn to enjoy the natural flavor of the vegetables. The less cooking the better.

Third day:

Drink orange juice in the morning. At noon, have more soup. In the evening, your choice of veggies, salads, or fruit. No meat, fish, eggs, bread, pastries, tea coffee, or milk.

Fourth day:

You can start eating normal but it would be best to start your morning with lemonade or fruit juice. A fruit and vegetable consumption is recommended as well. If gas or stomach complications occur, it is recommended to return to the lemonade diet until the system is ready for food.

If you are seriously considering doing the Master Cleanse, I strongly recommend you read the original book written by Mr. Stanley Burroughs.
